DSi Console

Along with the standard colours of black and white, Nintendo have lanuched the DSi in three more vibrant colours.  Currently you can only buy a Pink DSi, metallic blue or lime green in Japan, but hopefully over the coming months they will be introduced to America and the UK.  Unlike the pink which is a very girly colour, this light shade of lime green could be owned by anyone.  Out of the three additional colours they offer this would be the one  I’d go for.

Unfortunatly these colours haven’t yet been released in Europe and there isn’t an official date.  Therefore unless you really, really want a specific colour your best bet would be to go for either the white of the black.  It is possible to buy coloured rubber protectors, so you can add a bit of colour that way (I’ve even seen some Leopard print ones on Amazon).

The DSi Lime Green has the same specification as all the other models.  The Dsi Consoles all have two inbuilt cameras and a microphone.  These allow you to interact with the console, along with having some mini features to pass the time.  You can use the DSi’s DJ Tool to record short sound snippits, from which you can edit and add sound effects.  You can use the two inbuilt cameras to take photos, and then use the special modes to edit these photos and make yourself look silly and different.

As you can see from the photos the Lime Green DSi looks great.  Compared to the other two colours that will be launched in the future, the green DSi comes in a lighter shade of green, compared to the others which come in reasonably dark versions of their colours.  Nintendo have not said when they will be launching these colours outside of Japan, but I’m hoping they will be in time for Christmas.  One thing is for sure, when they are launched they will fly off the shelves (or internet screens) like hot cakes.  Therefore when they do become avaliable, if you see the one you want on sale, you’re best bet to to grab it when you can!
