Nintendo DSi Camera and Sound
The DSi boasts the first truly interactive digital camera in a video game system. In addition to its sense of touch (via the touch screen) , the new DSi has ‘ears’ in the form of a microphone and two built-in cameras for the ‘eyes’!
As well as recording yourself and your friends via the built-in microphone, you can even edit your recordings by changing the speed and pitch! All your favourite tracks can be stored on SD cards and be carried wherever you wish to go. The sound is much louder and the sound quality much better than previous DS models, and the speakers have been redesigned to look neater and also to make the DSi look more distinctive. There is also a stereo headphone output that can be used with the screen shut.
The outer camera functions as a digital camera, to take pictures of the world around you, and the inner camera can take pictures of the person playing the DSi.
The cameras are 0.3 mega-pixels, which means images can be captured at a resolution 2.5 times greater than the actual DS screen. This enables fast sequential viewing of photos on the screen. You can take photos, save them to the internal memory or an external SD card, as well as edit them and use the 11 photo ‘lenses’ and face recognition technology to have some fun!
